I’m a computational archaeologist interested in socio-ecological systems. My research focuses on human paleodemography, or population size, density, organization, among other things, in the past, and what societal and environmental changes may restructure human life history. I am currently focused on the Agricultural Demographic Transition throughout the world as well as life strategy changes in the American Southwest. Finally, I am interested in the complex ways humans affect, and are affected by, the environment. How does the purposeful modification of the environment alter the ability of humans to respond to environmental change?

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Anthropology Department at Washington State University, where I am also currently employed as a Research Assistant under my Ph.D. advisor Dr. Timothy Kohler. I am also the President of the WSU Anthropology Graduate Organization.

I am a Data Steward for p3k14c, a global radiocarbon database for paleodemographic modeling. I am also the Early Career Network (ECN) Liaison of the PEOPLE3000 group, a member of PAGES, where we are working to combine mathematical modeling with archaeological and paleoecological datasets to investigate the underlying dynamics of co-evolving socioecological systems. I am also a Research Associate with the Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology in the Department of Archaeology.
